7. THAILAND: JADE GARDEN

Jonathon Simone (Jay) at Thailand’s Jade Garden Resort wrote to announce the opening of his new all-inclusive disabled accommodations one hour from Bangkok, Thailand. This fully accessible resort is in a rural setting with an elephant village right next door.  The Jade Garden was specifically designed for and is exclusive to people with disabilities. The whole resort is completely accessible. It is managed by Jay, the owner, and Andrew, the resort disability coordinator, who is disabled. Andrew has a wealth of medical knowledge as he previously worked as an ambulance officer in Australia; combined with his personal understanding and experience of disability, he joined the team as the client liaison.

According to Jay, the resort’s location is the most accessible point in Thailand without long drawn-out airport transfers, or additional connecting flights. Nearby Pattaya City (beach resort) offers access to the beaches, restaurants, night life and other activities. Visit http://www.disabled-holidays.org/ and contact Jay to determine if their accommodations and travel packages suit your needs. Write: jay.disabled.holidays@gmail.com
