John is able-bodied and Cheryl  uses a wheelchair but can walk a short distance and negotiate 2 or 3 steps with the aid of a cane and a strong arm.  "We have travelled a fair bit and I have spent a lot of time perusing the Internet for other peoples’ experiences and using Google Maps Streetview to plan itineraries that she will be able to navigate. I think we are similar to a large number of other disabled couples and would like to offer some of our recent experience in the hope that it may be helpful to others," John said.
