Quaint bed and breakfast accommodations rarely guarantee decent wheelchair access, but the Pacific Blue Inn in Santa Cruz, CA offers nine wheelchair accessible rooms with roll-in showers. Owners, Joe and Debbie Quigg, are both wheelchair users.

2. LISBON GUIDE UPDATED

 

The Lisbon Guide, featured on Global Access News since 2002, recently updated their tour services and moved to a new web location www.your-lisbon-guide.com

  

Rui & Mary, who operate the tours, recently added more accessible tours and two new accessible vehicles: a minibus that will carry three wheelchairs, plus five persons and a driver and a Renault Kangoo with lower suspension and small ramp, for one wheelchair plus three persons, including a driver.

5. SPECIAL NEEDS AT SEA

 

C. Macgarvey e-mailed us about Special Needs at Sea’s new pier-side pick up of disability-related equipment at Seattle’s Pier 91 new Smith Cove Cruise Terminal. The new service was designed to facilitate easier on and off for special needs cruisers and also provide service for cruisers who need equipment at the “last minute.” Look for the signature kiosk provided by Special Needs at Sea.
