1. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE CURACAO TOURS

Marilyn & Tony Schrader of Round Rock, Texas
shared their impressions of a Princess Caribbean cruise aboard the Grand Princess. Marilyn writes:

“First, I must say that the wheelchair accessible room that we had was excellent.  It had room on both sides of the bed for a wheelchair; plenty of room to move around the cabin, and the bathroom was well laid out for my husband.

What stands out on this cruise is the availability of a wheelchair accessible van tour in Curacao.  It is operated by a company called Joseph Cares.  We did a two-hour tour of the port city. Ms. Madelon Bos is the office manager and she was our tour guide. Her email address is officemanager@josephcares.com Their website address is josephcares.com

There were four of us in our group and the cost was $35.00 per person.  Comparable to the cost of a 2.5 hour cruise booked through the cruise line, which had no accessibility for someone who couldn't at least get on the bus without their chair.  We mostly did a drive around town tour with the guide giving us highlights of the history, info regarding the refinery and its impact on the town, and  we made a stop and viewed a short video at the Curacao Factory where they make the Blue Curacao Liqueur.  There we enjoyed tasting the various flavors.
