Małgorzata Tokarska and Jolanta Wiśniewska wrote to announce the launch of their new web site, Accessible Poland. The site primarily focuses on access in Warsaw, Poland. This company provides information on accessible transport, museums, churches, historic sites, spas and more. 3. WHISTLER SKI PROGRAM

 

Riva Karklin e-mailed us about the Whistler Adaptive Ski and Learn to Ride Program. Their winter program caters to a full-spectrum of skiers and snowboarders from beginner through advanced, and they tailor their lessons to suit the guest’s needs. Whistler programs provide trained, certified instructors, guides and assistants, who will help those with both physical and cognitive disabilities access the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb. 4. SAN DIEGO BEACHES PROVIDE POWER CHAIRS

 

Three more San Diego County beaches (Silver Strand State Beach, Coronado City Beach and Oceanside Harbor) recently began providing power beach wheelchairs for disabled beach goers. Mission Beach and Imperial Beach also offer beach power wheelchairs. The new power chairs will be available free of charge and may be reserved by calling the lifeguard stations. The chairs were funded by the California Coastal Conservancy. Learn more at

5. NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA: FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT

 

Disabled people needing a full-time personal attendant can now apply for a Companion Card, which will provide free public transportation for their helper in New South Wales. The card will also ensure discount admissions at various attractions. Apply for a Companion Card by calling 1800 893 044.
